Beyond the Present: Vatsalya Vision
The Vatsalya Children's Literary Project is not limited to research and analysis alone. Transforming project outcomes into concrete practice is a hallmark of Vatsalya's commitment to the genre of children's literature. As soon as we identify and short-list a select number of full-length manuscripts, we work closely with their authors to locate suitable publishers. Protecting the financial and long-term interests of both authors and publishers is Vatsalya's foremost priority. Expert management-level consulting support from the highly qualified senior management team at the Binani Group in areas such as management, project planning and marketing is always available for the asking. If a book project is socially but not financially viable, the Foundation extends financial support to bring the manuscript to market. Effective distribution channels are also identified and streamlined so that the end product-- the book-- receives maximum exposure in both the urban and rural sectors.

On the Anvil
Innovation and creativity are the cornerstones of Vatsalya's mission. Projects that have been proposed include:

  • Annual National Conference of Writers of Children's Literature
  • Digitization of children's book for free access on the Internet
  • Sponsorship of the translation of children's classics into regional languages
  • Socially oriented monthly magazine for children in multiple regional languages
